Over the years, Total (E&P) Nigeria Limited has demonstrated high level of commitment towards the educational development of the Nigerian Students. This commitment has been demonstrated in several ways, one of which is the annual award of scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in secondary and Tertiary institutions as well as those in postgraduate studies. The programme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and qualitative manpower development in our host communities and the nation.

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY

The NNPC/TEPNG Merit Scholarship Award is open to all matriculated Nigerian full-time degree students in their first/second year of studies in Nigeria Universities and who are NOT beneficiaries of any other scholarships. In addition to the above condition, applicants must show:
* Proof of SSCE or equivalent certificate,
* Proof of UME scores and admission to the course of study

Gates Cambridge Master Scholarship 2011

Most applicants will apply simultaneously for graduate admission to the University of Cambridge and for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship using one application form (GRADSAF). As well as the GRADSAF form, applicants must also submit supporting documentation (e.g. three references, transcripts and any other material required by the University). USA: 2011-12 Scholarships for International Students at Colby-Sawyer College

International Students are eligible for need-based and merit-based financial aid, and are encouraged to apply. At Colby-Sawyer we strive to acknowledge the abilities and accomplishments of our students. Through a variety of scholarships and awards, the college recognizes academic achievement, community service and leadership experience.

Academic Scholarships- No Separate Application Required

These awards acknowledge students who have reached a high level of academic achievement throughout their high school career. With the exception of the Wesson Honors Scholarship, there is neither a separate application or deadline for these scholarships. As part of our rolling admissions process, students will be informed of the award decision at the point of acceptance. For international students, the admissions committee will recalculate your GPA based on equivalent letter and number grades from the Official High School Transcript you submit.

Wesson Honors Scholarship - up to $68,000 over four years

Students with a 3.75 GPA are eligible to apply for the Wesson Honors Scholarship. This $17,000 per year scholarship includes direct admission into the Wesson Honors Program. Students are automatically recommended for the program based on GPA at time of admission and the program does not require a separate application. It is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon good academic standing in the Wesson Honors Program.

Founders Scholarship - up to $64,000 over four years

Students with a 3.5 GPA are eligible for the Founders Scholarship. Students receiving this $16,000 per year award have graduated from high school with honors level classes and a rigorous college preparatory program. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission and does not require a separate application. It is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon maintaining a 3.3 GPA while enrolled at Colby-Sawyer.

Presidential Scholarship - up to $56,000 over four years

Students with a 3.3 GPA are eligible for the Presidential Scholarship. This $14,000 award is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon full-time enrollment and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission and does not require a separate application.

Chargers Scholarship - up to $48,000 over four years

Students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible for the Chargers Scholarship. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission and does not require a separate application. This $12,000 per year award is renewable annually for four years dependent upon full-time enrollment and maintaining a 2.75 GPA.

Merit Based Awards- Separate Application Required

Colby-Sawyer offers merit based scholarships to incoming students based on their high school academic record, leadership qualities and community service involvement. These awards are not based on need and are renewable each year as long as the student remains in good academic standing. Students are eligible to apply for merit awards at any point, including prior to being accepted.

Colby-Sawyer Grant

Grant assistance is given to students based on their financial need, as well as their academic performance. Students receiving grant assistance from the college may expect to receive similar grant awards each year as long as family circumstances do not change, all application deadlines are met, and the student remains in good social and academic standing.

International Scholarships and grants for Non-EU/EEA Students: Denmark

For full degrees or part of a degree

Scholarships are available for students from non-EU/EEA countries studying at higher education institutions in Denmark. The scholarships are administered by the institutions, so please enquire about this at the institution when you apply for admission.

Through the Erasmus Mundus scheme, it is possible to apply for a scholarship to undertake specific Master's degree programmes offered jointly by a Danish institution and other European institutions. For further information, please refer to  Erasmus Mundus in Denmark 

Exchange/visiting students

If you are studying through an exchange agreement or as a visiting student, the possibility of obtaining financial assistance will depend on your home institution and the chosen exchange agreement:

    * If you are studying in a European country participating in the Erasmus programme, you can apply for exchange and mobility grants at your home institution.
    * If you are studying in a Nordic country and certain European countries outside the EU you can apply for grants through Nordplus and Tempus.
    * If you are studying in a country outside the EU, we would advise you to seek information about grants and scholarships at your home institution.
    * If your home country has a bilateral agreement with Denmark, it is also possible for non-Danish students and researchers to apply for a number of Danish Goverment scholarships.

In addition to the above mentioned opportunities, a range of other grants and scholarships are available. American students may for example be eligible to apply for a Fulbright scholarship. Further information is available at the Denmark-American Foundation and the Fulbright Commission .

    *Studying in Denmark outside any established exchange programme or another kind of agreement, which waives your tuition fee.

Scholarships to developing Commonwealth countries 2011: Applying through a national nominating agency

Background

Commonwealth Scholarships for students from the developing Commonwealth to study in the United Kingdom are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) (www.dfid.gov.uk). 

There is a nominating agency for Commonwealth Scholarships in each Commonwealth country. Each year, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission writes to each agency asking for a specific number of nominations to be sent to it. Each agency is responsible for its own selection process, and in most cases will set a deadline date in the months preceding the Commission's deadline for nominations of the 21 December 2010. 

Approximately 200-230 scholarships are awarded each year.   Each year, the Commission seeks about three times more nominations than it has places available; therefore, candidates who are nominated are not certain to get a scholarship. There are no quotas for selections for any individual country.  Candidates are in competition with those nominated by developing country universities and the same standards will be applied to applications through both procedures.

Courses of Study

Applications may be for study at Masters or doctoral level.  Candidates may also apply for Split-site doctoral awards, in which the Commission supports one year's study in the United Kingdom as part of a doctorate being taken in the home country. All subject areas are eligible, although the Commission selection criteria do give priority to those applications that demonstrate strong relevance to development.

Candidates are requested to apply for a course of study at an institution in the UK which has agreed to offer part-funding with the Commission.  A list of the institutions which signed a part-funding arrangement with the Commission in 2009/10 can be found here.  The Commission anticipates that these institutions will enter into similar agreements in 2011-2012

Fellowships in sustainability science

The Sustainability Science Program at Harvard University's Center for International Development invites applications for resident fellowships in sustainability science for the University's academic year beginning in September 2011. Deadline for applications: 1 December 2010. 

The fellowship competition is open to advanced doctoral and post-doctoral students, and to mid-career professionals engaged in research or practice to facilitate the design, implementation, and evaluation of effective interventions that promote sustainable development.

Applicants should describe how their work would contribute to "sustainability science," the emerging field of use-inspired research seeking understanding of the interactions between human and environmental systems as well as the application of such knowledge to sustainability challenges relating to advancing development of agriculture, habitation, energy and materials, health and water while conserving the earth's life support systems.

This year some preference will be given to applicants whose work addresses challenges of innovation for sustainable development, with special attention to innovation in the energy, health and agricultural sectors. In addition to general funds available to support this fellowship offering, special funding for the Giorgio Ruffolo Fellowships in Sustainability Science is available to support citizens of Italy or developing countries who are therefore especially encouraged to apply.

The Sustainability Science Program is directed by Professors William Clark and Michael Kremer, and Nancy Dickson.

January 2011 scholarships

The deadline for scholarship applications for January 2011 is 1 November 2010 unless otherwise specified.

Westminster International Scholarships

These generous awards are aimed at fully funding you if you are from a developing country and will study a full-time Masters degree at the University. Particular preference will be given to you if you can demonstrate how the knowledge you acquire from your studies will aid the development of your own country.

Amount:          Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London.  

Eligibility:        You must be an international student from a developing country and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree.

Criteria:          Academic excellence, development potential and financial need.
