Program Description:     The University of Montana Scholarship Program draws together many endowed scholarships and donations to be awarded to new international freshman and transfer students. Students only need to apply for admission to the University of Montana to be considered for the scholarships. A scholarship committee matches academically qualified applicants with the scholarship that best fits them.

Eligibility Requirements
Requirements 1:     Must be an incoming freshman or transfer student.
Requirements 2:     Must have minimum score of TOEFL 500 PBT / 61 IBT or 5.5 IELTS or 69 MELAB.
Requirements 3:     Must rank in the top forty percent of students successfully completing secondary school in their country to be competitive.
Requirements 4:     ACT or SAT is optional, however if you have these scores we encourage you to submit them.

Scholarship Description: The U.S. Department Of State’s Bureau Of Educational And Cultural Affairs (ECA) Has Announced A Competition To Identify Potential Host Institutions For The 2011 MENA Regional Short-Term Visiting Scholar Program (MENA S&T). 25 Scholars From 12 Countries In The Middle East And North Africa Will Receive Grants To Participate In One Of The Five Discipline-Based Cohorts. The Program’s Purposes Are To Promote Faculty Development And To Build Higher Education Capacity In Science And Technology Fields In The Participants’ Home Countries. The Program Will Lay The Foundation For Participating Scholars And Their U.S. Hosts To Develop Long-Term Institutional Relationships And To Identify Areas Of Cooperation That Can Be Sustained After The Grant Period. Each Of The Selected U.S. Institutions Will Host A Cohort Composed Of Five Scholars In One Of The Following Five Fields:

UWE international scholarships

The University of the West of England, Bristol offers more than £100,000 worth of scholarships for international students each year.

Scholarships available

Academic Merit Scholarship

UWE offers scholarships of up to £1500 from around the world based on academic merit. For eligible applicants, the scholarships will be automatically awarded when an unconditional offer is made. Students who are awarded this scholarship and are studying at UWE for more then one year on the same programme will be entitled to a £1000 scholarship for each following year of study providing they maintain a 2:1 average.

Alumni Scholarship

This is a tuition fee discount available for all international students who have previously graduated from a UWE degree programme. See postgraduate scholarships for details.
Chancellor's Scholarship

Two full tuition fee scholarships will be awarded to two outstanding students to study a one year postgraduate programme at UWE. Applicants will be invited to apply.
David Howell Memorial Trust Scholarships

The David Howell Trust awards scholarships to students from overseas who, for social or economic reasons, are not able to study in their home country and would otherwise be denied access to higher education. Nominations are made by faculties from projects or other links with which they have an ongoing relationship. Excellence in Sport Scholarship

One full fee scholarship (including the cost of accommodation up to £3000) will be awarded to a student who is ranked in the World Top 10 or equivalent in a sport recognised by the International Olympic Committee which is also available within the British University and Colleges sporting framework (BUCS). Applicants will be invited to apply.


Global Student Scholarship

One full-fee scholarship will be awarded for a one year Masters programme and will be awarded based on academic merit. Recipients will be required to undertake an internship of 10 hours per week. Applicants will be invited to apply.

Justice Malek Ahmad Scholarship

This scholarship for outstanding academic merit is awarded in the memory of Justice Malek Ahmad, President of the Court of Appeal Malaysia (deceased). This is a full fee scholarship for a one year Masters, and an additional scholarship covering accommodation costs of up to £3,000. Recipients will be required to undertake an internship of 10 hours a week. Applicants will be invited to apply.

Lord Templeman Scholarship

This scholarship offers remission of fees for up to two years to international students studying an undergraduate law programme. This scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and financial need. Applications can be made by contacting Paul Catley, Bristol Law School, UWE, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol BS16 1QY. The deadline for applications is 1 June before commencing the programme of study.

MBA Scholarship

The MBA Scholarship in currently being reviewed. Information will be published on this scholarship in due course.

Millennium Development Scholarship

One full-fee scholarship will be awarded for a one year Masters programme. Applicants will be invited to apply and will need to submit an application detailing how the scholarship will help them to attain the Millennium Development goals within their country. Recipients will be required to undertake an internship of 10 hours per week.
Partnership Scholarships

A partnership scholarship of £500 will be awarded to all students joining UWE from our official partner institutions. No application is required. All eligible students will be identified by the University.
Professor Arthur Li Development Scholarships

Professor Arthur Li has been at the forefront of education reform in Hong Kong and holds an honorary degree from UWE. This scholarship commemorates his progressive thinking and contribution to education. This is a full fee scholarship for a one year Masters and is available to applicants from developing Commonwealth countries (as indicated by Commonwealth Scholarship Commission), who have shown outstanding academic merit. Applicants will be invited to apply.

UWE Loyalty Scholarship

If you are a full-time or sandwich student and you or your sponsor is liable for the full international tuition fee for your programme of study, you will be eligible for a loyalty scholarship of £500 provided that:
you have paid your fees for the academic year in full before or at registration*
the tuition fee received by UWE after the loyalty scholarship is awarded is at least £8,000
you are paying a higher fee than 'home' students registered on the same award.

Awards excluded from this scholarship are the MBA, Legal Practice Course, Graduate Diploma in Law and the Bar Vocational Course.

* For programmes commencing in September, you will need to have registered and paid your fees in full by 30 September. For programmes commencing in January, you need to have registered and paid your fees in full by 1st February for the loyalty scholarship to be applied at registration
Introduce a friend

Applicants who are referred by an existing UWE student or registered UWE alumnus will receive a 5% tuition fee remission for the first year of study. The referrer will receive payment equal to 5% of the new student’s fees. Please refer to the terms and conditions below.

The following scholarships are available to any UK, EU or international student attending UWE and have different eligibility criteria to UWE's international scholarships:

Terms and Conditions

A student can only be in receipt of one University of the West of England scholarship. If you meet the eligibility criteria for more than one of the scholarships, you will be awarded the scholarship which is the most beneficial to you. This will be in addition to the UWE Loyalty Scholarship where applicable.

If you have been awarded a scholarship, you will be notified in writing. Full terms and conditions for the scholarship will be sent with the scholarship award letter. Any scholarships, apart from full-fee scholarships, will be paid to you once you have fully registered on your programme of study. These are one-off awards, which are non-renewable after the first year of study unless otherwise specified.
Exceptions

Please note that scholarships are not available in respect of the English Language Pre-sessional programmes.

Eligibility

You will be eligible for consideration for a scholarship if you meet the following criteria:
You are liable to pay the full international tuition fee.
Are a national of, and resident in a country outside of the EU.
You have been made a conditional or unconditional offer of a place from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
You meet any specific scholarship requirements.
